Natural beer made in Asturias

History

Every story has a beginning, and this one starts in the dining hall of the Sant Joan de Mediona school, where Montserrat Virgili (Ales Agullons) and Eli Haro (DAI) met—oh, and a fridge, a fundamental part of the story. Until then, I was an industrial refrigeration technician, and through Montse, Eli, and the fridge, which broke down, I met Carlos Rodríguez, the brewmaster at Ales Agullons and my own mentor; that’s how a great friendship and a passion for beer began.

First the name, then the place. Dai: a word used by Eli’s grandad. Santullano de las Regueras, a small village in the council of Las Regueras—that’s where we decided to set up our brewpub. The Santullano brewery became too small and we decided to expand, closing the brewpub and setting up the brewery in La Rozona, surrounded by industrial units…

The youngest of the family, Yulen Flores, joined our team and we opened a taproom in Grao.

After the pandemic, we got back to the essence of our project, moving our brewery to the Somiedo Natural Park, a biosphere reserve, surrounded by bears, wolves, and nature.

Continuous brewing

The DAI beer brewing process takes place throughout the year with its seasonal varieties.

Distribution

DAI distributes its beer personally in Asturias and via certified courier to the rest of Spain.

Storage

We have a specific cold storage area to keep the product in optimal condition, ready to be served.
